Here are a few web sites related to the material in our courses

and for job seekers.

Robert Niles Statistics Primer

Good review of some of the basic statistics used in our Green Belt course.  For those who are nervous about the math we will use in our Green Belt course.  You don't have to tell us that you found it useful.

Algebra Review

Good review of some of algebra used in our Green Belt course.  For those who are nervous about the math they will encounter.  If you tell us you've never studied this stuff, we will be skeptical.  If you tell us you've forgotten it, we'll relate.

Epoch Institute

This is the place where Value-Train holds our Second Life seminars and where we conduct portions of our virtual Black Belt and Lean classes.

Karla Brandau & Associates

Karla and her friends teach a variety of subjects, including time management, change management and people skills, in Atlanta and via Webinar.  I took one of her classes on how to use Microsoft Outlook and was impressed.  I thought I was a power user but I hadn't even scratched the surface.  Her tips were useful and her classes are inexpensive.

NIST Engineering Statistics Handbook Online

It was nice of the US Government's National Institute of Standards and Technology to publish this handbook on the web.  Fairly technical but can be a handy source of statistics help for some problems.  Far beyond what is covered in our Green Belt program but useful for the Black Belt grads and anyone using advanced  statistics.  Searchable.

www.excel-erate.biz

A very good and free PowerPoint review of Excel (no statistics functions, mouse or keyboard tips however) from Jon Paul in Chicago.

Clemson University basic statistics review

This site has a review of the very basic stats function in Excel but not many.

University of Baltimore statistics review

This site has a much more complex review of Excel statistics functions. Far beyond what we cover in the GB class but a lot of this is covered in the BB program.

iSixSigma

A good site to get familiar with Six Sigma and the terminology as well as be impressed by how reasonable our courses are!

Air Academy Associates

They sell the Six Sigma software that we use in our Black Belt course.  Works with Microsoft Excel.

Process Model

Powerful simulation software that is oriented to typical Lean and Six Sigma problems. Can be used for Six Sigma analysis.  We now teach the basics of using this software in our Black Belt course.

Arena Simulation Software

Powerful simulation software by Rockwell.  We used to teach the basics of using this software in our Black Belt course but switched to Process Model because that company is a lot more responsive and attuned to our kinds of problems.  Still, if you need a high powered and expensive package and can put up with Rockwell's often difficult sales process, it may be worth considering.

Sales Performance Consultants

A site for sales professionals and sales managers that advocates and specializes in the use of Six Sigma for sales and marketing organizations.  That is uncommon enough that I thought it deserved mention.

Six Sigma Zone

A Six Sigma and Process Improvement web site that I recently discovered that has links to books, training, articles, events and other information about process improvement.

Minitab

A commonly used software package for statistical analysis is Six Sigma projects. Although widely used for Six Sigma projects in corporations, they are too expensive for our price sensitive Black Belt programs but we recently started offering courses in how to use their software anyway.

Training-Classes.Com

A good and friendly web clearing house for training classes.

Epifania Spanish Language School, Costa Rica

I took two weeks of immersion Spanish language training here and highly recommend them.  Friendly, talented people, small class sizes, good prices and optional live-in arrangements with local families.  I learned more in two weeks here than I did in years of trying on my own. Ir a la escuela si usted desea aprender espaņol!

Motorcycle Fairings

I ride a motorcycle and fairings are hard to find when you drop the bike and damage them.  This is a source of fairings that is an alternative to the original bike manufacturer.  And yes that's WHEN you drop the bike, not IF so if you also ride, always wear full riding gear!
