What is Lean? Lean is a methodology for getting waste out of all kinds of business operations. There is hardly a business process that cannot benefit from the application of Lean Thinking. Six Sigma is a methodology for getting harmful variation out of repetitive business processes. The two work together in harmony to make a powerful process improvement hit team. This course will teach you the fundamentals of Lean thinking, terminology, and practical methods for applying it to any business process. We have developed practical, experienced based course material and class exercises to aid your learning. This course is short (3 days) but covers the basic principles and will be enough to launch you on your Lean Journey. Lean is a simple discipline to learn but is often misinterpreted so takes some careful introduction. More advanced techniques can easily be added later once you firmly understand the basics. This course is designed to complement Value-Train's Six Sigma Green Belt course. Students who graduate from both courses will receive a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certificate. Some of our Lean courses have an industry focus. Lean principles do not change by industry but terminology and application examples do. If you see an industry focus on a Lean course, examples and terminology from that industry will be used.
